Kid Sister

Australian Premiere

A confident, bold debut full of chutzpah that deserves to find an audience” - Stuff.co.nz

Lulu is a young woman navigating big issues in Auckland, a city where more people identify as Jedi than Jewish. To the outside world, she’s a young Kiwi woman in her prime, but in the Jewish world Lulu is rapidly careening towards ‘spinster’. Now that she’s on the cusp of being 30, Lulu’s parents’ escalating attempts at pushing her into the arms of a Nice Jewish Boy have left her clinging on for dear life. Added to the pressure, Lulu has just found out she’s pregnant to her on-again off-again very-non-Jewish boyfriend, Ollie, and has to make some big calls — and fast.

As Lulu digs herself deeper and deeper into a hole, she is forced to face the question she’s been avoiding her entire adult life: how can she do what she wants while also making everyone else happy? Kid Sister is a fresh and personal comedy from debut writer Aidee Walker about the joys and troubles that arise when old-world meets new.

Kid Sister screens as one session including all five episodes.
